Frequently asked questions

When do babies start teething?

Most babies begin teething between 4–7 months, though some start as early as 3 months or as late as 12 months. Signs include increased drooling, biting and mouthing objects, swollen gums, irritability, and disrupted sleep. The TatoChew is designed for babies from around 3 months—at this age babies begin exploring by mouthing even before their first tooth appears.

Are silicone teethers safe for babies?

Yes — food-grade silicone is one of the safest materials for baby teethers. It is free from BPA, PVC, phthalates, and heavy metals and is easy to clean and gentle on tender gums. The TatoChew is made from 100% food-grade silicone. Always check that any teether is labeled food-grade and BPA-free.

What type of teether is safest for babies?

The safest teethers are made from food-grade silicone or natural rubber, with no small detachable parts, no liquid or gel filling, and no breakable sections. Avoid teethers with amber beads, liquid-filled centres, or parts that could detach. The TatoChew is a one-piece food-grade silicone teether — no separate parts, designed with infant safety as the priority.

How do I clean a baby teether?

Rinse the TatoChew under warm water after each use. For a deeper clean, boil in water for 5 minutes or place on the top rack of your dishwasher. Replace the teether if you see any cracking, discolouration, or deterioration of the silicone.

Can I refrigerate a teether to help soothe teething pain?

Yes — a chilled teether can provide soothing relief for inflamed gums. Refrigerate the TatoChew for 15–30 minutes before use. Do not freeze it—extreme cold can damage silicone and may be too intense for sensitive baby gums. Mildly cool is the right level.

How long can a baby use a teether per session?

Always supervise your baby while they use a teether. Sessions of 10–20 minutes are typical. Store the teether out of reach when not in use and replace it as soon as you see any wear or damage.

How long does delivery take in Malaysia?

We deliver to all states in Malaysia. For Peninsular Malaysia, delivery typically takes 1–3 business days. For Sarawak, delivery takes just 1-3 business days — we have a warehouse in Kuching, so Sarawak customers receive their orders much faster than most baby brands can offer.
