Frequently asked questions

Is TatoHip hands-free?

No. TatoHip supports your baby’s bottom and helps distribute their weight across your waist, but you must always keep one arm securely around your baby.

For longer and hands-free carrying, we recommend the TatoSnug Structured Carrier.

When can my baby begin using TatoHip?

TatoHip is recommended from approximately 5–6 months old, once your baby has developed sufficient head and neck control and can sit with support. Every baby develops differently, so please check with a healthcare professional if you are unsure whether your baby is ready.

TatoHip is not suitable for newborns.

How is TatoHip different from the TatoSnug Carrier?

They are designed for different carrying needs.

TatoSnug provides full structured support for longer, hands-free outings.

TatoHip is quicker to put on and is ideal for short carries, quick errands, and frequent pick-ups and down.

Many parents use both depending on the occasion.

Will it fit both Mum and Dad?

Yes. TatoHip comes with an adjustable Velcro waistbelt and safety buckle, allowing it to be shared between caregivers.

Can grandparents use it?

Yes, as long as the waistbelt fits securely and the caregiver is able to support the baby safely with one arm.

All caregivers should read and follow the fitting and safety instructions before use.

How should my baby sit on TatoHip?

Place your baby in the centre of the hip seat with their bottom and thighs properly supported.

Their knees should sit slightly higher than their hips in a comfortable M-shaped position.

Always keep one arm securely around your baby.

Does it get hot in Southeast Asian weather?

TatoHip’s open hip-seat design provides less body coverage than a full structured carrier, making it suitable for short carries in warm weather.

Always monitor your baby for signs of discomfort or overheating, and take breaks when needed.

What can I store inside the pouch?

The built-in zipped pouch can hold small essentials such as your phone, keys, cards or a compact pack of wipes.

How quickly will I receive my order?

Orders are delivered across Malaysia & Singapore, usually you will receive your order in 2-3 business (for Malaysia) and 1 week for Singapore.
